Last week we took our first big family vacation since Alyssa was born (okay that was 15 months ago, but at least we are going!) We went down to Indianapolis for 3 days- I have been told wonderful things about both the zoo and children's museum there and it is a reasonable drive with 2 young kids. We had a great time and the girls really loved being on vacation!! The most exciting thing for them was the glass elevator in our hotel where they could watch us going up to the 16th floor where our room was!! The 2nd half of the week was spent at home getting somethings done around the house and over the weekend we took in Ross' company picnic, fireworks at the Coastguard Festival and Sunday afternoon was spent on a boat with a family from our church. It was a beautiful afternoon for Alyssa's first boatride and Ashley's first time tubing- she loved it and didn't stop talking the entire time she was out on the tube!
There are quite a few pictures in this post, but it was hard to narrow it down and still capture everything that we did!
All packed and ready to go! "When will be at vacation?"
Petting the sharks at the zoo
Ross and the girls in the desert with the meerkats

Catching some z's since she wasn't that into most of the animals-this was a much better activity
